A Memory I'll Bury

It was a night/one evening/that check here terrible time that started out so promising/hopeful/well-intentioned. We were excited/eager/looking forward to a good time/an unforgettable experience/something memorable, but it quickly went downhill/took a turn for the worse/turned into a disaster. I can't even begin to describe/put into copyright/recall clearly how terrible/awful/horrible it all was. It felt like/seemed like/was as though everything that could go wrong/happen poorly/turn out badly did.

The food/drinks/ambiance were disappointing/atrocious/simply awful. The music/entertainment/company was terrible/unbearable/just plain weird. And to top it all off, there was a major incident/a series of unfortunate events/some serious chaos.
